Death Tweet ’08

From ALL A TWITTER: A PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GUIDE TO SOCIAL NETWORKING WITH TWITTER
In response to his followers complaining that his tweets were too infrequent, writer and podcaster Matt Wallace (@MattFnWallace) turned to his background of professional wrestling and tweeted that he would fight “a creature of their choosing” to the death, live on Twitter. Thus, the epic TwitPic Death Tweet was conceived. “I meant it as a joke, but it spawned such a heated discussion and generated such a wide response that I decided to make an event out of it.” Part of that event was inviting fellow authors Mur Lafferty (@mightymur) and J.C. Hutchins (@jchutchins) as ringside commentators. “I thought I would generate all the action, and they would just throw out some funny observations to add to the atmosphere. Instead we ended up on Skype while we were tweeting brainstorming on ideas back and forth.”
