Will talk about how brave I was on a couple of scary flights (yeah); about my transfer back to Japan (ahhh) and finally back to the good ole USA.

Watahiwa Fabukisan.  “My name is Blizzard.”  I’ll tell you how I thought I learned my name in Japanese, then how I learned my real name.  I will mostly talk about my trips to Tachikawa, Tokyo and Fusamachi.  All good things come to an end and I was transferred to Korea.  I was also transferred to a B-26, which was a scary transition.

A bit about my tour of Japan as a B-29 gunner.  A little about the transportation system, talks with the local people about their customs and a little about WW II from their point of view and their experiences.

After flight training we were transferred to slave labor.  Got a gravy job in the Orderly Room which came back to haunt me a couple of years later.  Still had a lot of fun in Denver.  Joined a square dance band.  Finally got orders to go to Okinawa - I don’t think so!

MY FIRST FLIGHT.

I was very excited and, yes, a little scarred that day when I went out to fly my first mission. Will also talk about some of my adventures on future flights. Next week I’ll tell about my “social life” in Denver and then my cruise to Okinawa.

Been a mighty long time folks, but I hope I am back for a while. Moved from NC to WV then had a spell of the never get overs. Nothing much exciting this week; mostly wandered around the farm. This week we’ll go Geneva, NY to start my Air Force career.

I had to back up a bit in this story. I had left out quite a lot of WW II. In this story I will cover the rationing of many items and the efforts we exerted to get the items we needed.

Hello, friend. This story takes place around 1947. Among other things it is a story about life in a coal mining town, making hay and doctorin’. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you will stick with me for the next 50 years or so.

Hi friend. Glad you could make it. I talk this week about the early 1940s, about a pig with a double skull and how we used to “watch” the radio, among other things. Hope you enjoy it.
